"Masculine" Sunday

by - 10:26

Musée d'OrsayEN: Last Sunday I visited for the first time since I moved to Paris, Musée d'Orsay. Whenever someone says the word museum, I imagine long queues and hours of waiting to get inside, so the fact that we ONLY waited 20 minutes was a great surprise! (could November be the best month to visit Paris?) With my friend Mathilde, we went to see the temporary exhibition devoted to the male nude in art:  Masculine: The Nude Man in Art from 1800 to the Present Day. Overall, we enjoyed the exhibition but I was very much looking forward to seeing this beautiful museum, which used to be a railway station. If you are an art lover (or not), this museum is definitely worth a visit. Under one roof you will find paintings by such artists like Monet , Renoir , Rodin and Van Gogh. The main hall took my breath away, such a huge space! and I loved the interior of the museum. Finally, I looked out from the "Clock" and admired the beautiful view of Sacre Coeur and Louvre Museum. We finished our perfect Sunday with a coffee and cake from the Cafe Campana on the top floor just before the museum closed its doors to visitors (picture perfect opportunity for me).

S kamaratkou Mathilde, sme sa vybrali pozriet si vystavu venovanu muzskemu aktu v umeni : Masculine: The Nude Man in Art from 1800 to the Present.

  3. Oh, I still remember the day I went to Musée d'Orsay with my class. The first thing I did when I entered this massive old station was, photographing the amazing ceiling. A split second after I took my camera I was held by a guard who was very angry at me because I wasn't allowed to take photos. A few minutes later I settled down a bench, laid my camera on my legs and click, I captured the ceiling ;)
I'm happy to see your photos of this museum, they're beautiful!
