Dubai Diary #2 Burj Al Arab

by - 19:21

Burj Al Arab, DubaiEN: The only way to get inside one of the most well-known landmarks in Dubai and the self-acclaimed only seven star hotel in the world, is by dining in one of its restaurants (unless you're staying in one of the hotel rooms, of course). Burj Al Arab, the famous hotel resembling a billowing sail, located in the middle of an artificial island where Roger Federer and Andre Agassi played tennis on the helipad, was very high on our list of things we wanted to experience in Dubai. I booked the High Tea a week in advance on the Internet, which was very simple, received a reply shortly after with instructions about the dress code. We didn't know what to expect and when the taxi crossed the bridge leading to the hotel we were thrilled. On arrival, we were welcomed by a Porter, the staff inside escorted us to the table and a personal waiter, who was there for us the whole evening, introduced the menu. We started with a glass of champagne followed by selection of sandwiches, freshly baked scones served with Devonshire clotted cream and homemade jams, coffee, tea and delicious french! pastries, finished with a cocktail while listening to classical music played on the spot, it was very romantic. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Burj Al Arab, not only the High Tea but the whole experience, atmosphere, amazing design all around, fountains, aquarium alongside the escalators, Hermes toiletries in the bathroom haha, actual gold deco, all the details and c-o-l-o-r-s! - "seeing is believing" :) Few hours later, when we left the hotel (completely blown away), we decided to walk along the bridge and admire Dubai at night, enjoy the warm air and holiday atmosphere... we walked hand in hand and in that moment we knew this evening will remain in our memory forever.

High Tea som rezervovala tyzden vopred cez internet, co bolo velmi jednoduche, kratko nato som dostala odpoved spolu s pokynmi ohladom oblecenia. Nevedeli sme, co mame ocakavat a ked taxik prechadzal cez most veduci k hotelu, boli sme uplne nadseni. Pred hotelom nas uvital Porter, personal vo vnutri hotela nas odprevadil k stolu a osobny casnik, ktory bol k nasej dispozicii pocas celeho vecera, nam predstavil menu.
