Weekend in ROMA

by - 13:17

This was one of the best weekends in 2015!!!! Four girls in Rome, four days of pure happiness, laughter, tons of pasta, prosciutto and mozzarella ... the sun was shining, the coffee was strong and I couldn't stop thinking what an amazing friend I found in Paris.

This whole trip wasn't really about Rome and the typical sightseeing activities (although we managed to see a lot), it was about friendship (and Rome was a huge bonus)! I'm afraid to use the word best friend as I always thought that someone who you call a best friend must be a person you know for years and years. I met this amazing person only two years ago, but I feel like I've known her for ages. When she proposed a trip to Rome for her b'day, my answer was an immediate YES!

The girls were already in Rome when my plane landed and I hurried to a taxi stand to get me to the restaurant they were having dinner at. Just in time, at 23:00, I ordered my first plate of pasta in Rome and one hour later we sang a happy birthday to our friend Carin! I'm smiling as I'm writing this, it was a fantastic moment and as you can probably imagine, the whole restaurant sang with us!!!

We enjoyed every single minute to the fullest, walked so much that our feet were hurting (or was that from the dancing every night?), ate the best pasta and drank spritzers, talked sooo much and finally met Annie, Carin's friend, who took us on her vespa ride around Rome. Wow! This was an amazing experience and so perfectly fit for this trip (when you don't have days to wander around). The Vespa team took us all around the town but also to not so touristy places to get a better feeling of this historical city! I've heard Carin talking about this tour so many times but it wasn't until I sat on one, when I realised what an amazing idea this is! I saw the whole of Rome in four hours!

On the flight back to Paris, I thought to myself, that this was a perfect chapter from a movie I always dreamed of living,  Sex and the city perfection! I'm only going to warn you, that this will be a long post, so get yourself a cup of hot coffee and enjoy the sunny Rome :) xx
