Vienna with my mom

This weekend was so important to me. Something I wanted to do for quite some time but never found the best moment. Two days with my mom for her birthday... I couldn't even keep it a surprise. I checked my favourite travel site, found a hotel I liked (the stunning Park Hyatt) and everything was set. As happy as a little girl, I asked her to take a few days off from work because "Mom, we're going to Vienna." We were both so happy!

I get to see my mom two times a year and as I'm getting older (and so is she), I feel such enormous urge to be with her more and more. I won't go into more details as I get always very emotional when talking family business, but I can honestly say that Vienna was the best choice for a little birthday treat.

The city is so wonderful, full of character and history and we were both interested in visiting the gorgeous Schonbrunn palace (a former imperial summer residence, a must if you ask me) and take a long walk around its gardens. Another favourite of mine was the Hofburg palace where you'll find the Sisi museum. I'm obsessed with Sisi since I was a little girl and I loved finding out more about her life (pretty sad one actually). If you haven't seen the trilogy Sisi I highly recommend you watching it (starring the unforgettable Romy Schneider)!

The Park Hyatt was located right in the heart of the city center which allowed us to move around by foot. Make sure to see the St. Stephen's Cathedral, have a coffee at one of the many terraces on Stephansplatz, try the famous Sachertorte cake and order wiener schnitzel for dinner haha.

I'm so happy that I finally realised this little dream of mine and I will cherish it forever. xx
